Description

Crispy Tofu with Ginger and Scallion Sauce is a flavor-packed dish featuring golden tofu complemented by a zesty, aromatic sauce. Perfect for any meal, it’s both satisfying and nutritious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 scallions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Press the firm tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut into even cubes.
  2. Toss the cubed tofu with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the coated tofu cubes in a single layer until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side. Flip gently to avoid breaking.
  5. While the tofu cooks, whisk together soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and chopped scallions in a small bowl.
  6. Once the tofu is crispy, pour the sauce over it in the pan and toss gently to coat. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
  7. Transfer to plates and garnish with extra scallions if desired.
