Description

Indulge in a nostalgic slice of cheesy goodness! This easy-to-make pizza combines rich flavors that will take you back to carefree school days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (or your preferred sausage)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup bell peppers (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup onion (sautéed, yellow or red)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If using, place your pizza stone inside to heat.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into your desired shape. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed.
  4. Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by the cooked sausage.
  6. Add sliced bell peppers and sautéed onions over the sausage layer.
  7. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese for that perfect cheesy finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
  9. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then slice and serve with extra pizza sauce if desired.
